What does
this machine do? |
|
|
|
Both
Profile-Flex and Multi-Flex are
5-axes, high speed machining
centers, which can drill, mill,
tap and saw-cut tubing, several
shapes profiles and extrusions,
in Aluminum, steel, wood and
plastics. The part is clamped and
stays stationary on the machine
while the gantry moves the 5-axes
machine head over the part. The
Multi-Flex can be equipped with
vacuum tables for routing or
special clamping
options. |

tubing, profiles and extrusions.

applications for long or large
parts and do not have a solution
to fabricate the part in one

How does
the machine clamp the part(s)? |
|
|
|
We
offer a choice of 6,8,10 or 12
clamps which are automatically
positioned by the gantry of the
machine. The larger Multi-Flex
can be equipped with servo-driven
clamps, where each clamp has its
own drive and motor. The clamps
can have several shapes to match
each profile. |
|

|
How
many tools can be stored in the
machine? |
|
|
|
The
Profile-Flex has 2 tool storage
systems of 6 tools each and 2
extra saw blade or disc cutter
stations while the Multi-Flex has
an 18 tool toolchain system with
quick change ATC arm. with saw
blade/ disc cutter stations
included. The maximum saw blade
diameters are 15-3/4" for the
Profile-Flex and 19-5/8" for the
Multi-Flex. |

Is there
software available? |
|
|
|
We
offer a 3D software, specially
designed for these industries
with drilling, milling, tapping,
flowdrilling and saw-cutting
subroutines. The software has its
own CAD package and shows a full
moving 3D simulation of the
production process with times
tudy and full collision
control. |
|

|
|
|
What
size parts can each machine
handle? |
|
|
|
The
Profile-Flex can machine
parts up to 7-3/4" x 12"
(3 sides machining) and
23-1/2" x 12-1/2" (2 sides
machining). The machine reach on
the length side is 248"
The Multi-Flex can
machine parts up to 19-1/2" x
16-1/2" (3 sides machining)
and 49" x 16-1/2" (2 sides
machining). The machine reach on
the length side is 295".
We make custom lengths as
well. |

What about
parts nesting? |
|
|
|
We
offer a nesting module in the
software to nest same parts or
different parts on one long tube,
extrusion or profile. |
|
|
|
|
|
Can
the machine mill solid
workpieces? |
|
|
|
Yes
the machine can be used to
perform regular milling work on
solid work pieces. There are
subroutines to mill pockets. This
machine can be used by diemakers
as well. |

|
|
|
Which
components are being used in the
machines? |
|
|
|
We
use the latest Siemens NC840D -
NCU 572.3 with Celeron 1.5Ghz
processor, 256 Mb ram with 15"
TFT color screen. All drives and
motors are made by Siemens. The
machine head is liquid
cooled,16kW with 18,000 and
optional 24,000 rpm. We offer a
Siemens service contract with the
machines. |
